I just discovered that Irys @irys_xyz founder Josh Benaron @josh_benaron has been focused on optimizing databases and underlying systems from the very beginning.
During his time at @ArweaveEco, he dealt with real user traffic and spent time researching how to make the infrastructure cope with rapid user growth.
Now, Josh's work at Irys continues this line of thought, but this time he is focusing on data availability and the structure of on-chain data.
Currently, many on-chain data solutions mostly just store data in a different place without addressing how to read, verify, and settle these critical aspects.
Irys still revolves around these aspects as its main logic, with a clear goal of allowing data to be directly read and written by smart contracts.
If on-chain applications really develop towards complex structures in the future, having such foundational capabilities will be crucial.
