I just revisited the historical tweets of 0xsun Wang Xiaoer.
Around June last year, I started shifting my trading focus from exchanges to on-chain. At the beginning, I was already paying attention to 0xsun and thought about joining the paid group, but I found it troublesome to write an application, so I didn't do it. I thought I was doing well on the exchange, and having to write an application for a paid group was something I had never encountered before. Maybe it was my arrogance, thinking I could handle things on-chain myself.
At that time, pumps had just come out, and I thought about writing code and strategies to make money. I was busy every day, but in reality, I didn't gain much. I was really using hard work to cover up strategic mistakes.
The on-chain gameplay still relies on attention mechanisms and is also dominated by news. This actually suits me very well, as most of the money I made on exchanges was from this kind of trading. However, playing on-chain without suitable news sources, not joining communities I recognized, and not making profits made it difficult for me to continue alone. Moreover, I brought my short-term trading methods from exchanges to on-chain, which was clearly the wrong approach. On-chain, news and attention dominate; receiving good news sources means you've already succeeded halfway.
If I had joined communities like pnut trump back then, I probably wouldn't have missed out. Although I did make some money, overall, there was still a difference of a whole magnitude. This was an opportunity that could completely change my fate.
So, when stepping into a new field, first find recognized predecessors. No matter how much tuition it costs or what method it takes, you must squeeze in to learn.
Otherwise, trying to explore on your own might lead to doing this poorly, wasting time and money. A reminder to myself.
